Online blackjack offers an interesting challenge for the player that is not found in other versions of the game. When you play blackjack online, just like you would when you show up in a casino in person, so to speak, it is competitive process, because you are going up against the "house," which means that you must overcome the odds that normally are established in blackjack games. Still, there are certain differences when you play in a physical setting (i.e., what we know as the "brick and mortar" scenario) as opposed to when you play blackjack online, because in an online blackjack game, you are not dealing with other players at the table, and certainly are not playing against them (another difference, of course, is that if you're in a Vegas casino, the drinks are free, while you would presumably buy them if you were drinking in front of your computer, but that's another story entirely). At any rate, in order to be successful in getting the most out of your experience from the casino, you, as the player, need to understand what the real object of the game is, from your own perspective.

For example, when you play blackjack online, is the goal simply to get closer to 21 than that the dealer? Well, that is certainly part of playing your best in the online blackjack atmosphere, but there is much more to a blackjack game than that, particularly in the way it is conducted, as most games are, over the internet. In online blackjack, one of the rules of procedure under which the game is governed is that the deck is to be shuffled at the end of each round of play (which happens very seamlessly with the computer-generated game available on the internet), so the closest thing to a winning approach in terms of how to play blackjack online is to know the kind of blackjack strategy that needs to be employed in get the most out of any blackjack games you play. To do that, one must have a basic understanding of the objective that needs to be accomplished, and to learn how to play the game in such a way as to make the most out of each available situation that is available in order to get to that goal.

In the interests of accuracy, your objective when you play blackjack online is simply to beat the dealer, and in that pursuit you do it any way you possibly can. In the online blackjack game, as anywhere else, a winning hand occurs either when you are able to make a hand that comes closer to 21 to that of the dealer, but also when you are able to stay under the total of 21 while the dealer exceeds that total, which is commonly known as a "bust." Remember that in blackjack games over the internet, there is the "random deal," so you are not really able to count cards as you might if you were a very skilled player in the physical casino atmosphere. As a result, the best way to take advantage of the rules of the game is to concentrate almost exclusively on what has come to be known over the years as the "Basic Strategy," which, simply put, constitutes the optimum way on how to play any hand you are dealt at the table, against any dealer upcard. This Basic Strategy is the backbone for any winning approach to playing the game, and it will get more concentration as we proceed. So read and learn, and we'll be happy to show you!
